Guidance/Disclaimer while looking at the below rates:
The Rates below are split into 3 categories: Owner NOT on-board / Owner On-board / Instruction
A day is 8-12 hours … meaning if we are doing overnights. Each 24hrs could be 2 days billing.
These rates and examples are to be used as guidance … Each trip is unique and brings it’s own set of challenges, additionally, boat cruising speeds vary widely
If you use the below rates & examples as a rough guidance while factoring in your boats average cruising speed and rough idea of trip mileage; that should get you a close estimate of days required to do the delivery (see example)
All fuel & marina charges are the responsibility of the owner, however, if the owner prefers … we will make the effort to anchor if it is within reason to do so
A deposit may be required for fuel/marina charges for the trip (the remainder of which would be refunded at end of trip)
Food charges can be on a per day budget or if a credit card is given, we can charge the credit card per the owners preference. If owner onboard delivery, we typically don’t charge food but with the expectation that the boat is well provisioned.
VERY IMPORTANT - the boat must be USCG legal (ie registered/documented or temp registration if new purchase, correct number of PFDs and safety equipment specified by the Coast Guard) - if the boat does not have these items, we can go purchase them at owners expense if it is within reason to do so
We typically send out estimate as flat rates (meaning they won’t change if delays for weather, unless they are significant) … some owners prefer to pay per day, which is something we can do as well. It is at the owners preference.
The captain(s) running your delivery will be in close communication with you about the trip and what the weather entails for your desired delivery dates. We want our owners to be satisfied that they have received what they have paid for. IF paying the daily rate option … at the discretion of the captain, the trip may be discounted if there is unsafe weather which would cause them to wait in a marina for a day or two. However, if the delay results in 24 hour offshore days to make up time, we will likely keep our normal daily rates, as this requires extra planning and difficulty. Once again, this is at the discretion of the delivery captain.
