Captain Ben grew up in Southern NJ and at an early age was racing sailboats in the Delaware River & Chesapeake Bay. After college, he started a career in corporate Finance but after 10 years, he was tired of the rat race and determined it was time to pursue his dream of traveling the world by sailboat. He moved onto a sailboat in 2017 and since then has devoted himself to life on the water. With many offshore passages under his belt, as well as a west to east trans-Atlantic crossing, Ben has logged more than 20,000NM. Ben is a fierce entrepreneur and saw a need for safe, experienced, and easy going captains to teach new boaters how to operate their boats. As a Towboat US Captain, he sees the dangers of inexperienced boaters first hand. Ben loves being on the water, his passion for boating is inspiring. His personality is fun and adventurous making boating with him exciting, leaving you wanting more.

Joyce was born and raised in Utica, NY. Joyce's post collegiate career was spent in the big apple as an actor, which opened up the door to tour the world performing with Sesame Street Live as Elmo. She has played everywhere from Dubai to the Garden. This experience ignited two things; a passion for creativity as well as a desire to see the world. This creative entrepreneurial spirit is what led her to develop and sell two businesses in healthcare. However, it was her desire to see the world that led her to sailing and she hasn't looked back. Moving onto a boat in 2017 and logging more than 15k NM since, she saw a gap in the industry for education on the water, especially for women. Onboard Captain Service is her next endeavor, focusing on empowering women to take an educated and skilled role in a male dominated industry. Whether she is captaining tour boats out of St. Michaels or teaching sailing lessons, you will instantly feel as if you have long been friends with Joyce. Her ability to be in tune with situations and how it is impacting the people around her is what makes Joyce an excellent captain and teacher. Lastly, her vast experience traveling up and down the east coast by boat will mean your vessel is in very capable hands.

Captain Matt hails from Ballston Lake, NY where he grew up enjoying the outdoors in the Adirondack lakes and mountains. He has a keen eye for safety and detail that was cultivated as an eagle scout, then as a delivery driver and safety committee chair for UPS. He took up sailing full time in 2017 working and living on the water. Capt. Matt has over 20k NM under his belt traveling the ICW, the Narragansett Bay, and the Chesapeake Bay, and most notably a west to east trans-Atlantic crossing. He has captained various tour boats in the Chesapeake including a 1926 classic cat boat and a 149 passenger steel cruiser. When you are on a vessel with Captain Matt, you feel comfortable, safe, and at ease.
